Hello, we are Valentyna and Fabian, a loving couple living in California with our beautiful one-year-old son. Becoming parents has been the greatest gift of our lives. Our son is full of curiosity and light, and he teaches us every day what strength and love truly mean. He was diagnosed with Fragile X syndrome, a rare genetic condition that affects his development—but he is thriving in his own unique way, and we are so proud of him.

What many don’t see behind our smiles is the journey we’ve been on, and the one we’re still walking. I (Valentyna) am a Fragile X premutation carrier, which means there’s a significant risk of passing the full mutation to future children. This makes natural conception extremely uncertain for us. It’s not just about getting pregnant—it’s about doing everything we can to give our future child the best possible chance at a healthy, supported life.

To grow our family safely, our doctors have recommended IVF with preimplantation genetic testing (PGT). This will allow us to select embryos that do not carry the full Fragile X mutation. It’s a long, emotional, and expensive process—but it’s the safest path forward for our family.

Unfortunately, IVF with PGT is not covered by our insurance and costs over $25,000, not including medications, testing, and travel. As a stay-at-home mom, I dedicate myself fully to our son’s care, therapies, and developmental needs. My husband works hard to support us, but like so many families, we simply cannot afford this journey on our own.

That’s why we are asking for help. Whether it’s $5 or just sharing our story, your support brings us one step closer to completing our family in the safest way possible.
